  • 1903 Very early photo of the house, before dormer was enlarged. I believe the window Is where the door is that goes from the present-day sun-room to the bedroom.
  • 1903 North East view of the house. Hilton Ave is getting a rock wall and perhaps a sidewalk?
  • Another early view of the house probably around 1903
  • Early photo of the house. Eventually, the front dormer (north side) was expanded, the porch was enclosed and a series of pocket windows were installed on the east side (left of photo). All of this work was done in the 30's by Mr. Hobbs.

  • Tippy. He was buried on the NW side of the house in 1929 and has a little headstone.
  • Cedar tree on the west side of the house when it was young. It still lives and shades the NW garden.
  • Minny Johnson (Hazel's parents), Hazel, and Walter Johnson
  • The Whisper Bench on west side of house. Photo taken about 1930. The bench was built in the 20's. It still looks like it did then.
  • Charles' Hobb's nursery
  • The Nursery
  • Charles Hobb's and his grand daughter, Ann. The door just behind Mr. Hobbs isn't there anymore. It's just a solid wall now.
  • The Living Room. The fireplace hasn't changed except I have an insert in it and had it converted to gas. There were gaping holes in the mortar and I thought it could pose as a fire hazard.
  • Charles Hobbs, 2nd from right. His daughter Betty and his grand daughter Ann (3rd and 4th from right). I believe that may be Lawrence Bolles (Betty's husband), 2nd from left.
  • Charles' reading a book in the living room
  • East side of the house looking at the present day sun-room. Front porch has been enclosed. Bedroom window is to the left.
  • North West side of house looking at the young cedar tree and 'summer house'. You can see the pillars of the rose arbor to the right of the photo. The arbor is gone but the pillars are still there along with the rocks and paths. Notice the young cedar tree which still stands in the yard today. It is the heartbeat of the front garden!
  • Fountain which does not exist anymore. I believe that this is on the west side of the house, probably where the house is next door.
